Take the Pan-American Highway towards the city of Alajuela, passing by the international airport, the Juan Santamaría Monument, and the famous Mango Park. As we ascend, we will notice a change in temperature and vegetation; we will see coffee plantations, ferns, flowers, and strawberries, creating a beautiful array of colors and textures.
We’ll make our way to La Paz Waterfalls. Upon arrival, we’ll explore a beautiful trail that leads to the park’s various attractions, including the aviary, the largest butterfly observatory in the country, the hummingbird gallery, the serpentarium, and the exhibits of frogs, monkeys, and felines.
Next, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch surrounded by the lush nature of the rainforest. After lunch, we’ll hike along trails through tropical vegetation to visit the impressive natural waterfalls formed by the La Paz River, considered among the most beautiful in Costa Rica.
It’s worth noting that this hike takes place in a tropical rainforest and includes some sections with steps. However, the trails are paved and well-maintained to provide a safe and enjoyable experience.
