Our adventure begins heading to the Los Santos region, one of the most picturesque and recognized areas of the country for its high-quality coffee production and its impressive mountain landscapes. During the journey we will cross Tejar del Guarco, one of the first populated areas of Costa Rica, and we will be able to observe the Coope Santos Wind Project, as well as spectacular views of the valleys and mountains that make up the Talamanca Mountain Range. On clear days, it is possible to see both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea from some panoramic points along the route.
As we ascend, we will discover a region of extraordinary natural and agricultural wealth, characterized by its cool climate, fertile lands and the production of high altitude fruits such as blackberries, apples and other typical mountain crops.
Our first stop will be at the first and only commercial winery in Costa Rica and Central America, located in Copey de Dota at more than 2,300 meters above sea level. Thanks to its privileged location, temperate climate and high solar radiation, this project has managed to produce wines with unique characteristics, considered within the category of “extreme wines.”
During the visit we will learn the history of this innovative initiative, we will tour part of the vineyards and learn about the processes of making white and red wines. We will also enjoy an exclusive tasting of wines produced in Costa Rica, California and Israel, allowing us to compare different profiles and styles from renowned wine regions around the world.
The experience continues with the discovery of the exclusive Golden Rush liqueur, made from the golden berry, considered one of the most nutritious and healthy super fruits on the planet. You will have the opportunity to visit the plantation, taste the fresh fruit directly from the plant, learn about the production process and try this distinctive liquor in different presentations.
Later we will enjoy a delicious lunch made with fresh ingredients from the region, surrounded by the spectacular mountainous landscape characteristic of Los Santos.
To finish this sensory experience, we will visit a cozy local cafe where we will taste one of the best premium coffees in Costa Rica. This region is internationally recognized for producing some of the most awarded and valued coffees in the world, thanks to its climatic conditions, altitude and coffee-growing tradition.
